On 19th of July 2016, Philadelphia Solar (PS) introduced the new PS-M72 high performance photovoltaic (PV) module with 360 Wp. The module comprises 72 mono PERC cells, which make it possible to generate 35 percent more power , compared to 60-cell standard modules.

The PS-M72 360Wp PV panels were installed in the Giant Industrial Group factories located in Al Mafraq, Jordan to cover 70 percent of their total electricity consumption. This project was considered the largest on-grid roof top operating PV plant in the Middle East with a capacity of 2.7 MWp. Since 5th of February 2017, Giant Industrial Group PV plant has been operating successfully with a total yearly approximate generation of 4.5 GWh.

The roof top PV plant consists of 7,694 high efficiency monocrystalline panels (360 Wp each), a roof top Magnelis steel mounting structures (Model: PS-7T-Fixed) which are also made locally by PS, and ABB Trio inverters (50 kW each) that are equipped with SCADA monitoring systems.

As part of the 2 years’ operation and maintenance (O&M) contract, the SCADA system allows PS team to monitor the plant to achieve the maximum generation required in addition to their on-site maintenance team that reacts directly to spontaneous maintenance matters.

Such a solar turnkey project was accomplished by PS’s installation team within five month and was inspected and certified by TUV Austria Hillas.
